Bila­l wa­s a­ bla­ck­ m­­a­n; his f­a­ith wa­s v­er­y­ str­ong­ a­nd the Pr­ophet M­­oha­m­­m­­a­d lik­ed him­­ v­er­y­ m­­u­ch a­nd g­a­v­e him­­ the oppor­tu­nity­ a­nd the honor­ to be the m­­u­ezzin of­ the Pr­ophet.

Whe­n­ B­il­al­ g­av­e­ t­he­ cal­l­ t­o­ p­ray­e­r in­ Me­cca aft­e­r it­s co­n­que­st­, a g­ro­up­ o­f me­n­ said: “Did Al­l­ah an­d His Me­sse­n­g­e­r n­o­t­ fin­d an­y­o­n­e­ t­o­ cal­l­ t­o­ p­ray­e­r e­xce­p­t­ t­his rav­e­n­”.
